About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Test Engineer with a strong focus on data testing and automation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring data accuracy, quality, and consistency across complex data systems including databases, data warehouses (DWH), and ETL pipelines.

In this role, you will design and execute end-to-end testing strategies, build robust test automation frameworks, and collaborate closely with software engineers and business stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Translate business and technical requirements into detailed, actionable test cases.

Conduct comprehensive testing of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows.

Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity across multiple systems.

Debug issues effectively by analyzing logs, identifying problem areas, and providing clear feedback to development teams.

Design and build test automation tools and frameworks for UI, backend, and data validation processes.

Develop scripts for test data generation, pattern recognition, and monitoring automation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies to ensure timely issue resolution and release quality.

Drive the adoption of automated testing practices within Agile development cycles.

Stay up to date with emerging automation and AI-driven testing technologies and integrate them where beneficial.

Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.

2+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, and data validation.

Strong hands-on expertise in database testing, ETL testing, and data warehouse validation.

Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Working knowledge of Unix commands and shell scripting.

Practical experience in at least one programming or scripting language (Python or Java preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Pytest, or SoapUI.

Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.

Exposure to NoSQL databases and large-scale data environments.

Knowledge of Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) is a plus.

Understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

Awareness of Prompt Engineering and OpenAI’s GPT tools is an advantage.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
