Role Overview

ADP is building the next generation of enterprise technology platforms, focused on creating solutions that are efficient, intuitive, visually appealing, and highly responsive. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM/Agile product development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software products.

This role offers hands-on exposure to end-to-end product development, where team members collectively own design, implementation, testing, documentation, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop software components and modules based on functional and technical specifications

Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure requirement clarity, architectural alignment, and product quality

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code throughout the development lifecycle

Prepare accurate development estimates based on design documents and requirement inputs

Identify risks and escalate delivery-impacting issues to the project manager in a timely manner

Evaluate change requests, perform impact analysis, and provide effort estimations

Participate in continuous improvement of development standards, processes, and best practices

Contribute to sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and Agile ceremonies

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree (mandatory), preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology

Experience

2+ years of hands-on experience in product-based software development

Minimum 2 years working in a Microsoft .NET product development environment

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in one or more of the following technologies:

C#

JavaScript

ASP.NET

ADO.NET

Web Services / WCF

Solid understanding of Agile / SCRUM methodologies

Experience with source control systems such as Git or VSS

Working knowledge of at least one major RDBMS, preferably SQL Server

Exposure to test automation, performance testing, build automation, and CI tools

Preferred / Bonus Skills

Familiarity with design and documentation tools such as Visio

Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities

Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving skills

Experience working with distributed teams in a fast-paced environment
