About the Role
Deutsche Bank is seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Data Engineer to join our globally staffed agile teams within the TDI PB Germany Enterprise & Data division. You'll work on the Private Bank One Data Platform, our strategic cloud-based data platform built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on data warehousing, analytics, and reporting solutions. This role empowers you to create robust data solutions that enable smarter decisions and greater operational efficiency across the Private Bank division.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high-performance data engineering pipelines to support data warehousing, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
Design, model, and implement structured and scalable databases that integrate data from legacy systems.
Build and maintain ETL processes, focusing on automation and optimization for performance-critical business functions like Customer Intelligence and Financial Reporting.
Ensure data quality through harmonization, transformation, and cleansing processes.
Collaborate closely with product owners and developers on designing and refining cloud-based data analytics solutions.
Take end-to-end ownership of your application, including development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Identify manual tasks in data workflows and automate them to enhance efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in data engineering with hands-on expertise in Java and/or Python.
Strong command over SQL and NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based tools.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and fast-paced delivery environments.
Comfortable using version control systems (e.g., GitHub) for collaborative development.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Apache Beam/Dataflow, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions.
Workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow/Composer.
Knowledge of GCS Buckets, BigQuery, Pub/Sub.
Understanding of ETL automation, Data Lake architecture, and Data Vault 2.0.
Familiarity with Terraform, Shell scripting, and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
Exposure to cloud monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, NewRelic).
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in distributed international teams (India & Germany).
