About the Team

The SDaaS (Software Development as a Service) Services Team at Oracle builds and supports scalable CI/CD platforms and DevOps services used across multiple SaaS and application teams. The team works with modern cloud-native technologies and focuses on automation, reliability, scalability, and continuous delivery.

Role Overview

As a Software Developer 1 (DevOps Engineer), you will contribute to building, enhancing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows in a complex distributed environment. Working closely with senior engineers, you will help modernize services, automate deployments, and support platform migrations while following Agile best practices.

This role is ideal for early-career engineers passionate about Linux, automation, cloud platforms, and DevOps tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Build and enhance automation-driven, continuously delivered software solutions.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab and Jenkins.

Implement and improve configuration management and infrastructure automation practices.

Manage workflows across multiple projects and partner teams.

Integrate and enhance automation across various DevOps tools and platforms.

Strengthen Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) support for SDaaS services.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to applications, workflows, and DevOps tools.

Support platform migrations, SCM upgrades, and runner farm enhancements.

Collaborate in an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

Strong fundamentals in Linux / UNIX environments.

Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and JavaScript.

Experience with DevOps toolchains, including:

Git / GitLab (SCM & CI)

Jenkins

Kubernetes

Podman

Terraform, Ansible

Artifactory, Monitoring tools, JIRA

Understanding of CI/CD automation and cloud-based software architectures.

Familiarity with Agile / Lean methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

0–2+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or automation roles.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced Agile environment.
