About the Role:

As a Systems Engineer Intern at KLA Corporation, you will collaborate within the engineering team to enhance existing and design new electron-beam imaging products for the semiconductor equipment market. Your activities will include tool driving and maintenance, integration, development of new designs, and specification and characterization of both software and hardware requirements.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Product Enhancement:
   - Work on improving existing electron-beam imaging products for the semiconductor equipment market.

2. Design and Integration:
   - Contribute to the design of new electron-beam imaging products, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.

3. Hands-On Work:
   - Engage in a significant amount of hands-on work to integrate and test various sub-systems, gaining a detailed functional understanding of the entire product.

4. Project Management:
   - Stay organized and detail-oriented while working under schedule and customer pressures on multiple projects.

5. Problem-Solving:
   - Demonstrate creativity in thinking and detail-oriented problem-solving skills.

6. Procedure Development:
   - Follow existing procedures and create detailed procedures and documentation based on experimental data collection and general ideas.

7. Customer Support:
   - Be involved in remote and on-site customer support, including potential travel to customer sites on short notice (between 25 and 50% travel load).

8. Educational Background:
   - Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or the physical sciences.

9. Technical Skills:
   - Demonstrate an ability to solve complex technical problems.

10. Hands-On Experience:
    - Ideally, have hands-on experience in machine control and/or scientific data analysis.

11. Technical Knowledge:
    - Possess knowledge of vacuum instrumentation; knowledge of electron beam systems, such as electron microscopes, is preferred.

12. Communication Skills:
    - Exhibit excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
