Role Overview

Nokia is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to design and build AI-driven, cloud-native, microservices-based solutions. In this role, you will work in an Agile environment, translate customer and business needs into robust technical solutions, and deliver high-quality features across the full product lifecycle. You will also play a key role in resolving customer issues, driving innovation, and continuously improving system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software features

Translate customer and business requirements into technical specifications and low-level designs

Perform coding, unit testing, functional testing, and participate in code reviews

Ensure feature and product quality with on-time delivery

Handle customer-reported issues and escalations by performing root cause analysis (RCA) and defect fixes

Actively contribute ideas and improvements to enhance product architecture and development practices

Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

2–5 years of hands-on Java development experience

Strong experience with IntelliJ, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, and unit/functional testing

Solid understanding of distributed systems and common design patterns

Proficiency in Linux environments and NoSQL databases

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including experience with memory profilers

Knowledge of Diameter, REST, and SOAP protocols

Experience across analysis, design, development, unit testing, and functional testing

Good-to-Have Skills

Telecom domain knowledge, including 3G/4G/5G core network elements

Understanding of Online Charging Systems (OCS)

Exposure to cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
