Role Overview

Responsive is seeking a product-oriented Software Engineer with strong technical fundamentals and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic SaaS environment, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to cutting-edge, AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Distributed Systems Development:
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.

Performance Optimization:
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to deliver low-latency and efficient query responses.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, UX designers, and globally distributed teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

Continuous Innovation:
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends; research, prototype, and experiment to drive product and platform improvements.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

1–2 years of hands-on experience in software design, development, and algorithm-based problem solving using Java and related technologies.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in Java, server-side development, and Java design patterns

Experience with both backend and frontend technologies such as Spring, React, MongoDB, and similar frameworks

Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with cloud-native services for data storage and processing

Experience with search and retrieval systems like Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, or equivalent platforms

Familiarity with AI-driven solutions, NLP, semantic search, and text processing is an added advantage

Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing maintainable, high-quality code
