Role Overview

Rockwell Automation is seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will design and build scalable, high-performance APIs and backend services using modern Python frameworks and database technologies. You will work in a hybrid environment and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and secure software solutions that power industrial innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI

Build and manage microservices-based backend architectures

Design, optimize, and maintain data models using PostgreSQL and MongoDB

Integrate and support databases such as Redis and KairosDB

Write unit tests and ensure high code quality, reliability, and performance

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and performance issues

Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Security teams to improve CI/CD workflows

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives

Create and maintain clear technical documentation and installation guidelines

Support deployment and environment setup across development, testing, and production

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with Python and FastAPI

Hands-on experience with microservices architecture

Expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB

Working knowledge of Redis and KairosDB

Experience with Kafka and MQTT messaging technologies

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

Understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines

Experience Requirements

2–3 years of experience as a Software Engineer / Python Developer

Proven experience building APIs and backend services in production environments

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to evaluate multiple solutions and communicate trade-offs effectively

Clear communication skills when interacting with customers and internal stakeholders

Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams

Work Policy (Hybrid)

Employees are expected to work from a Rockwell Automation office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, unless business needs require otherwise.
