Canonical Hiring Backed Developer Remote
Introduction
Canonical is a leading global software company that is known for its Ubuntu operating system. The company is currently hiring Backed Developers to join its remote team.
As a Backed Developer at Canonical, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems that power Canonical’s products and services. You will also work with a team of experienced developers to build and improve the Ubuntu platform.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team.
Write clean web service APIs to support both CLI and web frontend clients, using Python (and optionally Golang).
Design and implement new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale.
Review code and technical designs produced by other engineers.
Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
Work remotely with global travel 2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
0-2 years of experience in backend development
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or another language
Experience with relational databases and SQL
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
