Role Overview

Cisco’s Enterprise DevOps as a Service (EDaaS) team is building modern platforms that enhance the Developer Experience (DevEx) across the enterprise. As a Software Engineer – Full Stack, you will design and develop scalable, secure, and intuitive platforms that simplify developer workflows, accelerate onboarding, and improve productivity across engineering teams.

This role involves working across frontend and backend systems, integrating DevOps toolchains, and collaborating closely with product owners, platform engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact internal developer solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development

Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using React or similar modern frameworks

Develop dashboards and workflows that simplify developer interactions with internal platforms

Backend Development

Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Go, or Node.js

Ensure scalability, performance, and secure service-to-service communication

Platform & DevEx Engineering

Develop internal platforms that unify access to tools, documentation, pipelines, and environments

Contribute to internal developer portals that centralize developer resources

DevOps & Toolchain Integration

Integrate platforms with tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, ArgoCD

Support CI/CD workflows and automated developer pipelines

Security & Compliance

Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC)

Apply security guardrails and compliance best practices across developer services

Observability & Metrics

Build monitoring and analytics dashboards to track adoption, usage, and platform performance

Leverage observability tools to ensure reliability and visibility

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with cross-functional teams to iterate rapidly on new features

Create clear technical documentation and self-service guides for developers

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

1–3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer

Strong experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular)

Backend development expertise using Java or Go

Hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar databases

Experience designing and consuming REST APIs

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools

Solid understanding of web security principles, authentication, and access control

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience building developer portals (Backstage or custom solutions)

Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry

Knowledge of API gateways, service meshes, and distributed systems

Experience with data visualization and dashboard frameworks

Contributions to open-source projects or internal engineering platforms
