Description:

The Transportation Team at Amazon is seeking a passionate software programmer analyst. The role involves collaborating with business and operations teams to gather ship carrier requirements and working with transportation technology teams to integrate new carriers and ship methods into the network. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining transportation documents like shipping labels, carrier electronic manifests, and invoices. The role also involves working on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing current software, automating manual configuration processes, and documenting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with business and operations teams to gather ship carrier requirements

- Integrate new carriers and ship methods into the network

- Design, develop, and maintain transportation documents

- Work alongside development teams on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects

- Update and enhance current software

- Automate manual configuration processes

- Document systems

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

- Focus on CS Fundamentals – Data Structures, Algorithms, Problem Solving, and Coding

- 0 to 2 years of relevant engineering work experience

- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java (preferred), C++, or C#, or scripting language such as SQL, Perl, Python, XML, or Ruby

- Ability to write clean code for basic data structures problems and algorithms

- Ability to recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering

- Ability to read and interpret complex code, debug, and troubleshoot application-level issues with minimal guidance

- Ability to come up with simple solutions without over-engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1+ year experience in Software development and handling highly scalable systems

- Strong ability to troubleshoot and root cause medium to complex issues

- Exposure to AWS Technologies such as AWS S3, Dynamo DB, etc.

- Ability to deeply understand the business objectives relevant to your team and stakeholders' teams and understand how the applications or tools achieve business objectives
