Job Summary:
The person in this position applies broad knowledge of their technical discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical practices. They identify problems in existing systems and modify them by following defined work procedures. This role is operationally oriented, responsible for achieving day-to-day defined tasks, and works under the close supervision of Team Lead/Project Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, bug fix, document, and provide technical support in the assigned area.
- Ensure on-time delivery while adhering to quality and productivity goals.
- Adhere to guidelines and checklists for all deliverable reviews, send status reports to the team lead, and follow relevant organizational processes.
- Enhance technical capabilities by attending trainings, self-study, and periodic technical assessments.

Education and Experience Required:
- Engineering graduate, MCA, etc.
- Experience: 0-2 years

Competencies Description:
Protocol Testing engineers conduct the following activities on 2G/3G/LTE/5G technologies:
- Modem/UE Protocol Stack Testing
- Interoperability testing of the modem with various Network operators and dealing with NEM labs (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent)
- Ability to understand network scenarios (signaling & user plane call flow), develop test plans and test cases, and execute those test cases using an automation framework. Collect the required log and analyze/debug issues being found as part of regression.
- Proficiency in all 3GPP Radio Access Technologies (RAT) with air interface, network signaling, and Layer 2, Layer 3 protocols of UE & RAN side, also NAS layer from UE and core network.
- Automation using PERL/Python/TTCN scripting languages.

Platforms:
Internal and customer-specific platforms Linux host

Technology Standard:
3GPP specifications Thorough understanding of the Network vendor tests

Tools:
QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu, Keysight Test instrument knowledge, Test scripting like RTD (for Anritsu) or equivalent Trace/log collection tools, core dump analysis tools, flashing tools

Languages:
Scripting languages like Shell scripts, TCL scripts, Python, Perl, etc.. C, C++, TTCN

Specialization:
2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, INTEROP TESTING, VSAT-SATCOM
