Experience & Skills Required

Hands-on experience from previous internships, collaborative projects, or open-source contributions that demonstrate the ability to receive and apply feedback from mentors, peers, and stakeholders.

Proven ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems through independent research and collaboration with mentors or subject matter experts.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work effectively in multi-person or cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently pursuing or having completed at least two years of university education in a relevant field, or possessing equivalent practical experience.

Specialized expertise in one or more areas, complemented by a broad understanding of related technologies—for example, in-depth knowledge of frontend development and a general understanding of how backend services handle HTTP requests.

Proficiency in creating high-quality pull requests with strong test coverage and the ability to deliver projects with minimal defects.

Familiarity with navigating complex codebases that may involve multiple programming languages.

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical work to stakeholders, teammates, and other contributors.

Work Environment

Team members (Stripes) are generally expected to spend at least 50% of each month working in their local office or directly with users.

Expectations may vary depending on the role, team, and location. For example:

Bucharest, Romania: ~80% in-office requirement

Stripe Delivery Centers in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bengaluru, India: 100% in-office

Some teams may require higher in-office presence to best support users and workflows. Hiring managers will clarify specific expectations during the selection process.
