Barclays is seeking a proactive and driven Junior Automation Engineer to join its dynamic technology team. Primary Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks like Gherkin.
Work in Java or JavaScript environments to create scalable and reliable test automation solutions.
Collaborate with DevOps teams using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub for CI/CD integration.
Participate in design and code reviews, analyze requirements, and contribute to software testing strategies.
Conduct root cause analysis for identified issues and work alongside developers to resolve them.
Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate best practices in testing and automation.
Additional Accountabilities
Draft test plans and validation strategies aligned with quality benchmarks.
Build intuitive automation workflows and support ongoing improvements to testing methodologies.
Work collaboratively across teams to understand requirements, enhance user experience, and refine delivery pipelines.
Ensure compliance with risk, governance, and security standards throughout the testing process.
Deliver stakeholder-focused solutions and contribute to the overall team objectives.
Skills & Technologies Needed
Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber.
Solid grasp of Java or JavaScript programming.
Understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with Gherkin syntax.
Familiarity with tools like Jenkins (CI/CD), GitHub, and version control systems.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Knowledge (Nice to Have)
Exposure to the banking or financial domain.
Familiarity with Oracle Flexcube or other core banking systems.
Awareness of automation testing in regulated environments.
Knowledge of front-end and back-end testing practices.
