About the Job:

Join Disney+ Hotstar as a Software Development Engineer in Test and be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of applications across various platforms, including mobile, TVs, Set Top Boxes, and Living Room devices. Your role will involve developing backend tools and frameworks to test REST APIs, microservices, data migration, failover scenarios, and deployment procedures. Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles, Shift Left principles, and distributed systems is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Develop backend tools and frameworks to test REST APIs, microservices, and data migration.

- Implement failover scenarios, blue-green deployments, and canary deployment procedures.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure industry best practices in software development processes.

- Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.

- Build and publish proof of concepts (POCs) to explore innovative solutions.

- Work with distributed heterogeneous microservices architectures and ensure compatibility across platforms.

- Utilize caches such as Aerospike, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Cassandra, and Kafka for performance optimization.

- Implement CI/CD principles for continuous integration and deployment.

- Utilize Linux commands and shell scripts for automation and scripting tasks.

Requirements:

- Good understanding of REST APIs, request-response structures, error and status codes.

- Proficient in SQL and database scripting.

- Experience with Amazon AWS or similar cloud providers.

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and Shift Left principles.

- Ability to build distributed systems for performance and scale testing.

- Experience in industry best practices in software development processes, including unit testing, OOPs, design, and code reviews.

- Hands-on experience with Linux commands and shell scripts.

- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
