What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers across teams to deliver impactful software solutions

Review code and technical designs, providing constructive and thoughtful feedback

Maintain and scale production systems to support growing user needs

Develop the ability to manage projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, and delivery

Learn operational best practices for building reliable and secure systems

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, completed by Summer 2026, or equivalent professional experience

Basic programming experience gained through coursework, internships, or personal projects

Exposure to collaborative development environments, such as team-based academic or professional work

Ability to understand complex systems through independent learning, mentorship, and documentation

Strong analytical thinking and communication skills

Stripe primarily uses Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go. Strong fundamentals are valued more than experience in any specific language.

Preferred Qualifications

Deeper knowledge in one technical area, such as frontend development or backend services

High-level understanding of how web services handle HTTP requests

Experience with code review processes and safe deployment practices

Comfort working within large and evolving codebases

In-Office Expectations

Employees assigned to office-based roles are generally expected to work onsite at least 50% of the time per month, depending on role and team requirements.

Bengaluru roles: 100% in-office

Specific attendance expectations will be discussed during the hiring process
