Role Overview

Hexagon is transforming industries with cutting-edge autonomous technology. We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our Safety Critical Systems (SCS) Development Team. In this role, you will be involved in the verification and validation of highly accurate GNSS systems, contributing to the advancement of autonomous technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Verification and Validation: Design and execute verification and validation activities for safety-critical products.
- Process Implementation: Implement and document effective processes to ensure robust validation and testing.
- Tool Development: Develop software tools to support the verification of safety-critical products, including defining requirements, architecture, and implementing source code.
- Testing: Execute manual and automated tests for both software and hardware components, ensuring traceability to requirements and specifications.
- Documentation: Develop test specifications, reports, metrics, and validation protocols. Document, track, and validate issues through to resolution.
- Team Collaboration: Work within frameworks such as Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 to develop reliable and safe products for automotive and other safety-critical industries.

Skills Required

- Educational Background: BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Software, or Geomatics Engineering.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable coding in Python and C/C++.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at teleconferencing and remote communication.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Automotive Experience: Experience in the automotive industry is an asset.
- Safety Standards: Familiarity with safety-critical standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ASPICE.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of real-time operating systems and embedded firmware development.
- Test Environments: Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test environments.
- Automation: Experience with test automation and tools like JIRA and Polarion.
- GNSS Knowledge: Understanding of GNSS and/or Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology and algorithms.
