Role Overview
Kaplan is on the lookout for enthusiastic and skilled Associate Software Engineers who are passionate about coding and eager to contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle. This role will involve creating, testing, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions that meet user and business needs. You'll work closely with teams using agile methodologies and play an active role in scrum practices.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with development teams to understand software requirements and design scalable solutions.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across different layers of the application stack.
Conduct debugging and code reviews to ensure robust and error-free applications.
Write and maintain unit tests and support broader testing initiatives such as integration and usability tests.
Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes to support future enhancements.
Deliver reliable software that aligns with performance, scalability, and quality standards.
Eligibility Criteria
A recent graduate or final-year student in BE/BTech/ME/MTech (Computer Science/IT or related fields).
Immediate joiners or candidates with up to 30 days notice preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, OOP, and software design patterns.
Experience writing unit tests and debugging code.
Understanding of SDLC and agile development frameworks.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
Awareness of architectural principles such as modularity, scalability, and stability.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React.
Knowledge of back-end stacks: Node.js, Java, .NET, Python, Salesforce Apex, Visualforce, and Shell scripting.
Understanding of cloud platforms and API integrations is a plus.
